Daelia’s Biscuits for Cheese — Product Review & Giveaway

July 5, 2012 By Crumbs and Chaos

Spread the love

When I first heard about Daelia’s Biscuits for Cheese I was curious.  I really had no idea what to expect!  I knew that they were supposed to be healthy and somewhat gourmet, but a biscuit?!?  Then when I received them in the mail I was so excited to try them.  I read some of the information about them, such as what cheeses are best with which crackers.  Then I had two little tasting “parties”.  One with me and my dad and the second with my mom and Becca.

First of all, we were blown away by how good they were and loved the amazing flavor combinations.  They are thinly sliced and crunchy, but with the addition of the fruit they tend to be somewhat chewy as well.  We tried them with Gorgonzola, Cheddar, Gruyere, and a Mango Fire Cheddar then had some conversation about the qualities of each.  Here are our thoughts….

Almond with raisins — These biscuits are made with almonds and raisins and are finished off with a surprising hint of black pepper. Recommended with goat cheese, aged cheddar, and gouda.  We especially enjoyed these with the Mango Fire Cheddar.  It made for a spicy snack.
Pumpkin with rye — These biscuits are made with almonds, pumpkin seeds, and whole caraway seeds.  Recommended with Gruyere, washed rind cheeses, and soft ripened cheeses.  We enjoyed these with Gruyere and even with the gorgonzola.
Hazelnut with fig — These biscuits are made with hazelnuts and figs.  Recommended with salty blue cheeses, stinky cheeses, and soft cheeses.  We enjoyed these with gorgonzola cheese.

Overall, we each had our favorite but agreed that we liked them each for their own uniqueness.  They are perfect for an afternoon snack or served as an hor’ dourve at a party.  And lucky for one of you, Daelia’s is sharing…see the details on the giveaway below.
