Thanksgiving Craft

November 18, 2011 By Crumbs and Chaos

Spread the love
My kids love to do crafts and I think there is so much they have to be thankful for.  So I thought it would be fun to make a simple project out of it!  These only took us about 20 minutes to make.
You’ll need:
toilet paper roll
colored construction paper
marker
tape or glue
Begin by cutting feather shapes out of your construction paper.  We then cut a small orange square and folded it in half for the beak.  And we cut more of a diamond shape out of red construction paper for the waddle.
I asked the kids what they were thankful for and I wrote it on their feathers.  My husband drew on the eyes with a permanent marker.  Then we taped on the beak, waddle and feathers.
They were both so proud of their projects.  As you can see 😉

This is a GREAT craft idea. I’m in Marina di Ragusa, Sicily living on a boat in a marina right now. My daughter is 4 and she’s having a sleepover tonight. My daughters friend is 1/2 Polish and 1/2 NZ…my daughter is 1/2 Brit and 1/2 American. There will be over 60 people celebrating Thanksgiving next week (all nationalities) at the marina and I’m going to get the children to make these for displays. It’s a great way to teach children and adults about our wonderful holiday. Big smiles, Kim
