ONE OF MY FAVORITE BREAKFAST FOODS IS –
FRENCH TOAST!!!
This recipe comes together easily and you probably have most of the ingredients on hand already. And with the cinnamon gooey-ness that you put in the pan first, you don’t even need syrup!
Ingredients
2 Tablespoons CORN SYRUP
1/2 cup BUTTER
1/2 teaspoon CINNAMON
1 cup BROWN SUGAR
12 slices FRENCH BREAD
1/4 teaspoon SALT
6 EGGS
1 1/2 cups HALF & HALF
1 teaspoon VANILLA
Butter a 9×13 baking dish.
Pour syrup mixture into bottom of prepared pan.
Place 6 slices of bread on top.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, half & half, salt and vanilla. Pour half of this mixture over the bread in the pan.
Place remaining bread on top, then pour rest of egg mixture over the second layer of bread – making sure all bread is covered with egg mixture.
Cover pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or at least six hours.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
I saw this recipe on a wonderful food blog called Kittencal’s Kitchen.
