The first time I ever had tapenade, I didn’t even know what tapenade was. I had ordered the Italian sandwich at a local deli in our hometown and it came with this really good green olive tapenade. It was a while later that I put a name to those amazing flavors. Since then, I have had a few different types of tapenade in a few different ways. They have all been good, but my favorite has been Kalamata Olive Tapenade. I looked over a few different recipes and combined them to make this wonderful at home tapenade!
You can serve it as a dip with pita crackers or you can spread it on toasted slices of a baguette for game day. If you aren’t making this at game day time you can spread it on a sandwich or even combine it in with scrambled eggs!
Ingredients
2 cups KALAMATA OLIVES
3 ANCHOVY FILETS
2 Tablespoon CAPERS
3 GARLIC CLOVES
Juice of one LEMON
1 Tablespoon OREGANO
1 Tablespoon THYME
1/2 cup OLIVE OIL
dash of PEPPER
Directions
Combine olives, anchovies, capers, lemon juice, and herbs in food processor. Slowly add olive oil as you pulse. Continue until everything is finely chopped. Season to taste with pepper. ENJOY!

My husband and I were JUST talking about Tapenade! I made a pasta dish with tuna and Kalamata olives, and it made us think of it. Anyhow, I’ve never made it before but this looks WAY better than any kind you can buy. Yum!
