Toffee Crunch

Toffee Crunch | Crumbs and Chaos #easy #snackmix www.crumbsandchaos.dreamhosters.com

If there is anything that is hard for me to resist, it’s a crunchy snack…especially one that contains cereal.  In fact, if I had a bag of regular Chex mix I’d rather pick out all of the cereal and leave the other stuff for someone else.
One of the best things about the holidays is getting to enjoy giveaway sweet little treats.  This Sweet & Salty Snack Mix is one of my all time faves, but there’s always room for something new.  I took a few of my favorite things – cereal, Heath bars and chocolate and made you this delightful little snack.
It’s a little early in the month and I don’t have anyone planned to give this to, so if someone could just come over and take the rest off of my hands – I’d be grateful.
Day 1: Glazed Eggnog Cookies         Day 7: Toffee Crunch
Day 2: Salted Chocolate Tartlets       Day 8: Cookies in a Jar
Day 3: Peanut Buster Caramel Bars   Day 9: Italian Ricotta Cookies
Day 4: Rolo Pretzel Turtles                Day 10: Naniamo Bars
Day 5: Snickers Popcorn                   Day 11: Eggnog Cranberry Whoopie Pies

Day 6: Candy Cane Mint Milanos      Day 12: Chewy Molasses Squares

8 cups RICE CHEX CEREAL
1 cup PEANUTS
1 (14 oz.) can SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK
1 teaspoon VANILLA
24 MINIATURE HEATH CANDY BARS, cut into thirds
1/2 cup CHOCOLATE CHIPS
Preheat oven to 300°.  Prepare 2 baking sheets that have sides by spraying them with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, mix together cereal, peanuts, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.  Stir well to coat evenly.  Spread onto baking sheets in a single layer.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until light golden brown.  Remove from pan with a spatula.  Place on waxed paper to cool.
In a small microwavable safe bowl, melt chocolate chips in 30 second increments until smooth.

Scatter the Heath bar pieces into cereal mixture.  Drizzle melted chocolate over everything.  Try to wait until the chocolate hardens and break into pieces.
