String cheese and snack time go together like peanut butter and jelly, biscuits and gravy, waffles and syrup…you get the picture. Did you know? Kraft (or PollyO as it’s known in some parts of the country) has come on the scene with exciting new string cheese varieties that are packed with flavor. These are great for adventurous eaters and adults alike. The new flavors include – Tomato Basil, Jalapeno and Cracked Black Pepper – all three have 6 grams of protein and will help keep you satisfied until your next meal.
The start of a new school year comes with the hustle and bustle, changes in schedule and moments of insane craziness. Kraft String Cheese is a great choice for lunches or as a snack to grab and go, as well as enjoy at home to make a tasty after school snack. In every bag of specially marked Kraft/PollyO String Cheese are coupons worth over $12 in savings on products like Crystal Light, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Kraft Natural Cheese and some of your family’s favorite magazines. These offers will last through mid-September to help make the transition to the busy fall season a little more enjoyable.
I used one of Kraft’s new String Cheese flavors to make a quick pizza snack. We loved the flavor of the jalapeno for this snack, but the tomato basil would be equally delicious. Serve with fresh fruit for a ideal snack that will have you full and happy until dinnertime.
Ingredients
- 7 CRACKERS or PITA CHIPS (use your favorite)
- 4 slices PEPPERONI, halved
- 1 KRAFT STRING CHEESE - TOMATO BASIL or JALAPENO, cut on an angle into 8 pieces
- 4 CHERRY TOMATOES, halved
Instructions
- Place crackers or pita chips on a microwave safe plate. Top each with half a slice of pepperoni and one piece of cheese (use the two end cheese pieces on the same cracker)
- Microwave for 30-45 seconds until cheese is melted. Top with halved cherry tomatoes and serve immediately.

Honestly- every afternoon I eat either an apple or some grapes with a piece of string cheese! It’s enough to get me through my after-work workouts and not leave me ravenous before dinner.
