Hunger in America knows no boundaries, rural, urban and suburban areas are all affected. 1 in 5 children are unaware of where their next meal is coming from. Across the United States there are 16 million children that struggle with hunger, that could be a child on your street or a friend of one of your children.
We’re taking part in Unilever’s Project Sunlight and their fall initiative to make a difference . Take a few minutes to watch this short video to understand what #shareameal is all about. There are many ways to contribute and we’ll be telling you more about the virtual food drive that we’ll be holding soon. Think about sharing a meal with your neighbors, bringing in donations to your local food bank or organizing a community potluck – all ways that we can work together to thwart child hunger.
I happened upon this post tonight, and I’m so glad I did. By day I work with young children, and ending child hunger is a cause that I’m passionate about.
