Come in from the cold and warm up with a mug of Cookie Dough Hot Chocolate.
We’re all about warm drinks this time of year. My kids will go outside for 15 minutes in the cold and come in asking for some hot chocolate. I usually don’t give in at that point and tell them to stick it out a little longer to earn their hot chocolate by actually being cold. One thing I insist upon in the wonderful world of hot chocolate is enjoying one made with milk, in my opinion a packet of powdered hot cocoa mixed with scalding hot water does not a delicious cup of hot chocolate make. This weekend while we’re trimming the tree, we’ll be sharing the delight of a steamy mug of this delicious drink.
It’s time to switch up your usual cup of plain ol’ hot chocolate. Today we’re making it creamy thanks to Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream, yes, you read that right…I put ice cream in my hot chocolate and let them both warm up together. The chunks of cookie dough from the ice cream will end up in the bottom of your cup and are quite delicious slurped right off of a spoon. International Delight already makes your favorite coffee creamers, they now make Nog and Vanilla Nog and recently introduced Hot Chocolate. Right in the carton sold near the milk and refrigerated creamers, it comes in two varieties – Milk Chocolate or Dark Chocolate. It really doesn’t get more simple than heat and serve. You can mix in your favorite ID creamer to add flavor or just top with marshmallows or whipped cream.

- 1½ cups INTERNATIONAL DELIGHT DARK CHOCOLATE HOT CHOCOLATE
- 1 cup CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH ICE CREAM
- Large pinch of SALT
- WHIPPED CREAM and MINI CHOCOLATE CHIP for garnish
- In saucepan heat hot chocolate and ice cream together over medium low heat until steaming hot.
- Divide between two mugs and top with whipped cream and mini chocolate chips.
- Serve immediately.
